In this packaging project I was assigned to choose an item that potentially comes in a carton and one in a can. I chose lavender tea and honey. After researching I found there are mountainous areas in France that grow fields of lavender and maintain their own bee hives. Although we have that here in our own backyard in Fresno, CA, I decided to reach out of my comfort zone and try something new. I also used my own hand drawn sketches of wildflowers and lavender in a block print style to create custom pattern designs. The House of Bijou logo was created after a long search for the perfect typeface and adding some ornamental touches that reflect a French style. I incorporated these shapes in the packaging to create the sense of cohesion and so the viewer or consumer can easily recognize the brand.
